FOG Design + Art Fair 2022

January 20-23, 2022

Fort Mason Center, San Francisco, CA

WORKS ON VIEW

For the 2022 edition of FOG Art + Design, R & Company will spotlight two of its contemporary designers with West Coast ties: Hun-Chung Lee and Rogan Gregory. Lee is recognized for his skilled utilization of 15th century Korean celadon glazing techniques to create beautifully crafted sculpture and furniture. This approach requires significant engagement between artist and material and a deep understanding of the unpredictability of the ceramic firing process—a process Lee has mastered over the span of more than 30 years. For FOG, R & Company will feature a new body of work produced by Lee in his recently opened Los Angeles studio. The fair will also serve as a homecoming for Lee, who received an MFA at the San Francisco Art Institute and later became a distinguished professor at the institution.

In addition, R & Company will feature new work by the Santa Monica-based designer Rogan Gregory. The presentation will reflect his most recent experimentation with materiality, using gypsum and shearling to create his elegant organic forms. The display builds on Gregory’s highly successful showing at the latest edition of Design Miami/ 2021.

The booth will also include new sculptural vessels and objects by Katie Stout and Jeff Zimmerman, both of whom are the subjects of solo exhibitions at R & Company’s 64 White Street location in New York, opening in February. The gallery will also present several new works by artist Nancy Lorenz, including a wall-work made with gold leaf that embodies Lorenz’s tactile and sensuous style. A selection of murine works by the Washington-based artist Richard Marquis extends the experience of his recent exhibition at R & Company, which was on view October through January 8.
